Cold Rock is something else entirely. It’s about fun, imagination and endless variety. Who ever heard of a milo cookie dough ice cream? Their trained crew (we call them Cold Rockers) can mix and smash up your flavourful creation on their very own Cold Rock – a frozen granite slab. With the ability to create over 10 million combinations of ice cream by mixing chocolates, candies, cakes, fruits or nuts into your choice of our super premium ice cream, low fat ice cream or sorbet, Cold Rock has taken ice cream to a new level.

My inaugural trip to Cold Rock was months ago. As it happened, I chanced upon this new ice cream outlet on a random trip to laid back Holland V, and fortunately for them, ice cream of any kind is my weakness.

I love ice cream in the purest sense of the word - single flavor with no condiments. But ice cream with add-ons has got to be the defining thing in ice cream history. A simple topping such as caramel sauce or mixed nuts can change the taste profile of an ice cream entirely.

And so I embrace Cold Rock's signature culture of mixing and smashing which is an art form in itself. With Cold Rock, the choices are endless. With an already vast line-up of flavors coupled with top-notch "mix-ins" (ranging from candies to brownies), no one ice cream is the same. I find it more exciting that Cold Rock brings back fond childhood memories with the addition of old school classics such as Freddo Frogs chocolates, Gummi Bears and Milo Nuggets. The moment I stepped into the store, I was immediately welcomed by the friendly staff. It could get quite overwhelming to see the many ice cream flavors and mix-ins, but the helpful staff would be more than willing to educate and suggest winning combinations.

I knew what I wanted immediately. I chose peanut butter and chocolate ice cream, and mixed them with Nutella. Fantastic doesn't even begin to describe this flavorful concoction. My friend decided to choose Bubble gum ice cream with gummi bears and marshmallows, which I'm sure will win hearts of the kids, and those young at heart.

Despite Cold Rock's novel ideas, the pricing may turn off certain customers as it is quite highly priced compared to its near competitors. However, price shouldn't be a consideration at all, given the delicious ice creams, wonderful staff and cool ambience.

Truly, Cold Rock is a gem of all rocks!

I first try this ice cream is in Australia...

It was juz beside the cinema and I was craving for something cold... So I juz pop in and WAH... I was spoil for choice! There was alot alot alot of flavours... which include some of my fave... peppermint, tiramisu, dark chocolate, ferrero rocher and so on....

apart from the ice cream, you get to choose a mix.. e.g. from kit kat to nuts to raisons to oreo...

so after choosing the flavour and the mix, they will smash and blend the ice cream...

Anyway, that day I happen to pass by Holland Village... Cold Rock Ice Creamery is in Singapore!

Seriously speaking, apart from smashing in the mix, nothing wonderful abt it...

I order a tiramisu with kit kat... One scoop of ice cream plus juz 1 kit kat (the smallest size kit kat that comes in 2 ). I feel that the mix is too little...

Oh Yah... The girls there are young and pretty!

The quality of ice cream isn't very good. I prefer Ice Cream Chefs. And Cold Rock is crazily expensive.
