    11. Daiso (VivoCity)

ha.. after talking about Page one, I think I should talk about Daiso too. Comparing to the stores in Japan and back to Singapore. I find some similarity. Being packed and filled with people seems the usual in the stores here as well as in Japan.

The Daiso over here is one of the smaller branch as compared to the one located in IMM Jurong East. I normally go there to get my bicycle accessories and some bits and pieces of household necessities or stationeries if I do go Vivocity. I loved the cutlery they have and the snacks and drinks which are also offered in all the outlets.

It looks the same in all outlets which I find it a bore, things are everywhere and you really need time to look into the things they have there. Quite cluttered. Thankfully the whole place is brightly lit that I can see the things in a whole different color ha.. things seems to look prettier when its bright right? :P

      12. Page One (VivoCity)
         29 Apr 2009 at 1:00 pm
Page one and Daiso are the reasons I go Vivocity at times. And if I have cravings for some food only located here. ha..

I kinda like the freezing air-con in Page One. Being that cold, its also good for the books so maybe they will not gather fungus then you won't get a musky and moldy smell in it after sometime ha.. just my thots

I liked the variety of books they offer, the maze like design, the creaking sounds from the timber flooring as you walk, the view of Sentosa cum sea view and the natural light coming in from the glass windows.

Page one book store being spacious enough, is also not as crowded as other book stores like Popular. Its great that they incorporate some design to a shop which you call a book store. Service wise i'm not sure but i'm sure everything can be improved. ;)

Go there and walk around if you have the time. Make it a leisure one

        13. AirAsia
           29 Apr 2009 at 12:17 pm
Had quite an experience yesterday, there's a massive traffic jam at PIE today and we reached the Changi airport very late and my mum's flight was like 50mins away and she has yet to check in. Initially I thought that there would not be so many people. Okay, this was our first time taking Air asia to Malaysia, so we don't know how is it like... Just because we wanted to try out a budget airline. Bad idea perhaps.

When we reached there, I was so surprised to see the amount of people queuing up to check in at all the 4 Airasia assigned counters. As we were running late and the bag is not in yet, I went ahead to ask the sales counter staff on whether he can assist me.

Normally if your counter is closed, I presume answering enquiries should also be part of your job right even though its not part of your job scope? That guy sitting there, looking at the computer screen, answered me sooo reluctantly and re-directed me to ask the person beside him when he can just go and ask the person there as he's so near to the counter! okay maybe I should not complain so much. At least there's something to compliment about..Thankfully, the guy at the front counter is being most helpful in letting me skip queue and check in as we were running very late.

No thanks to that sales counter guy and thanks to the other. :P Thus one of the stars is eaten up because of that bad attitude.. One thing I should do next time is to remember to check in online first, try not to have any check in luggage...and the best to go there much much earlier. :P

          14. Tv Mobile
             27 Apr 2009 at 7:41 pm
I was wondering if TV mobile could have more updated shows from svc or something, maybe life would be much easier on the buses. hmm but does that mean that the bus fares will go up again? And people might not want to alight the buses because they want to catch the show on till its over. ha. jus kidding. :P

I was wondering why the shows are repeated so often could be that they think people don't stay on the buses for long periods of time and so they re-loop the same programmes over and over for that period of months to allow us perhaps be able to finish the show after that span of time? :P

TV mobile has its pros as sometimes I manage to catch the news slot and able to keep myself updated with the news. And always seeing the programme, 'Just for gags' with the green "creature" jumping out crying that the show is over. Sometimes I feel a sense of relief when I see that. ha..

Overall, Its has brought some entertainment to me when i'm on a bus to somewhere far and when I didn't bring my mp3player with me.

What can I say, this library is my favorite! ha.. even though I hardly borrow any books from the basement borrowing section there but it wins hands down in the ambience, the design, the scenery and the facilities that it offers in this gigantic 13 storey building which you call a library!!? unbelievable! ha..

I can say I was so thrilled when I heard news that Singapore is coming up with a new building to replace the old nostalgic Central Library we had years ago near the National Museum. Still, at a new location, with a fresh look, it still stands out among the buildings around it and attraction different people into it.

There's no cafe inside the library is a good thing but at least there's this Hanes cafe - right outside the library at the first level. An open space concept kind of cafe with beautiful greenery around offering the customers there a comfortable and peaceful feeling if its not crowded. :P I think there's one small cafe at the Drama center entrance if I remember correctly. But i supposed its not catered for the public or something. Do correct me if i'm wrong. ;)

Do venture around each level of the building, sometimes they might have some exhibitions around. There's one part of the building which I liked very much. The high white colored ceiling and full glass walls design giving you pretty much a full view of the city and pretty much of Singapore. This area gives you that spacious feeling so you won't feel so closed up if its all four walls and nothing else.

There is also this drama center where they hold musicals and plays at level 4. I can't remember which level the garden is at. But yes, there is a small garden in one of the levels. Talk about man made gardens..

For those book lovers or art lovers, this building is worth a look at if you have the time and bring along your cameras! :)
