Definitely my favorite cinema in Singapore! I love cinema 1 especially, grand stuff. Seating space's slightly bigger than the usual (regular GV etc), flexible arm rest for the cosy couples, quite clean too.
Haven't really a say on the service, it's average at most as most of the staff aren't very friendly, just doing their job.
I love their popcorns but the nachos are less yummy than GV's (especially the cheese).
Great selection of shops offering the quirky and interesting, clothes especially! Then there's the array of food stores in the basement. I'm sure everyone would mention that.

Oh i love cathay. It is one of the few cinemas that actually airs the japanese movies plus i am a great Jap Fan.BEsides that the seats are really big and comfortable. and their airconditioning is powerful! Love their popcorns to bits too. Always buy both sweet and salty popcorn, best of both worlds? Anyway, the best thing about cathay is the ticket price. Since i am a student i will only need to pay 6 dollars on weekdays afternoon and that is $1.50 cheaper than GV. A great place to hang out with friend after school :D

If you are looking for the great cinema watching experience, it got to be at The Cathay. This is the best place for people who are tall or claustrophobic. Firstly, there is sufficient leg room and secondly, the chairs are comfy and spacious or big! The cinema smelled good, too; and with the fantastic ambience, it is close to being perfect. I love this place! The quality of sound system is at par with the standards. Comfort and sound system are factors to consider in order to please movie buff and frequent movie goers.

If I had to choose one cinema, I would definitely pick the cathay! The chairs are big and spacious with lots of leg room. Plus, the theatres are much cleaner. This makes the whole movie experience not only better but worthwhile. Why would I pay to see a movie if it is worse than watching it at home?
I love the long screen too (when they open the curtains at the start of the movie!)
And their UOB card deals are all the more a bonus! It makes their tickets one of the lowest around!
The other thing I like about it is that I dont have to queue for very long at the ticket counter compared to other cinemas.

Cathay Cineplex has to be the best cinema ever! Nice, big and comfortable, lots of leg room... Seats are like sofa armchairs. And somehow I feel that the whole movie experience is so much better.
Oh yes, and they have much better snacks than other cineplexes.
However, I usually ignore the shops in the rest of the building. Never really saw any point in going to any of them. Sell all sorts of weird stuff. But I suppose if you're there a bit early for a movie, you can walk around just to kill some time.

I prefer cathay cineplexes much more than any other cineplexes probably because of the more comfy seats which are rather spacious as compared to other cineplexes.
The Cathay is my favourite cinema of all ! ;D Seriously love their couple seats. Haha, without the arm rest thing, and allows you to cuddle tightly (watching horror movies esp) with your loved ones. (: I actually prefer their sound system, that you can really feel your heart thumping along with the sound effects.
Another plus point is their sweet popcorn is among the best that i've eaten of so the many cineplexes. Haha. The popcorns are mostly coated with honey (or syrup) that it gives an extremely pleasant taste ! I was just a newly convert popcorn lover after frequent visits to cathay. x)

The Cathay is one of my fav cinemas. The seats are comfortable and clean.
Particularly like the couples seats which are the last few rows. Spacious and nice for sitting with your loved ones. Not always available in other cinemas. Somehow feel they have more threatres here fitted with the couple seats. Maybe because it is new.
The exit doors are also suitably situated which led you back to the ticketing counter area. Not like some cinmeas where you got led to some ulu place outside the mall.
For NTUC plus card members, there is a promotion of buying 1 get 1 free when you show they a charge slip using that card. Very worthwhile in my opinion. Cost me only $10 for a movies for 2 on weekends.
