i always find this place overpriced.
their ramen is really good (: the soup is robust, tasty and doesnt feel too oily. noodles springy, and comes with loads of crunchy bamboo shoots, rutan, jap fishcake and snow peas. ordered the ebi wanton ramen set, comes with five fried ebi wanton that is insanely good..but also unbelievably sinful. although there are visible little pools of oil on the wanton, cant really taste it. haha denial.
must order their mixed mushroom soup! its at teh hot plate katsu/meats stall (beside oden stall), it has about 3 types of mushrooms in a soup. the most interesting part is that it comes with a small wedge of lemon, and if you try the soup before and after adding lemon in, its an amazing world of a difference (:
their pork katsu rice (on hot plate) is not bad, but gets dreary after a few bites. for a vegan-wannabe like me, one bite is more than enough
all in all, good food..at rather exorbitant prices, i feel.

Had been to the outlet at Heeren and the experience was so-so but the food was quite good.
Thus, yesterday, my wife and I decided to grab some food to go to the outlet at Raffles City/City Hall and treat the family for the weekend.
I must say that we were very disappointed by the experience. There were mainly Chinese staff who did not speak English. Our orders were not taken correctly. For example, we ordered a soba for takeaway and wanted to add tempura. The chap gave us TWO sobas, one cold soba for takeway and the other hot soba with tempura for dine-in! No receipt was provided and thus, the confusion. After I explained to him the situation that I only needed one cold soba with tempura, he proceeded to pour the hot soba in a takeaway dish. I was baffled. I tried to explain to him that we only wanted one soba and whether we could cancel the hot one, there was an awkward silence as he looked at me. Feeling sorry that he would probably have to pay for the hot soba, we took the hot soba and ate it before going off.
The staff did not provide accurate expected times for the preparation of food. We thought that since most of the food would take 10 min or so to prepare, we would be out of their quickly. No way, the whole process took over 30min.
At the cashier, I was shooed to move to another cashier as two of the cashiers were chatting!
Bad bad experience both on the service staff as well as the speed of the food delivery.
Will we go back? Probably not and rest assured, our friends will hear of this.

I went to Shokudo to meet friends there and I must say that the food there is affodable and good enough for me. Im not too sure about what the name of my main course was, but it was Unagi with Rice. It cost me less than $5, which is around the same price as a normal Food court, except that it tasted better. For dessert, I had waffles. It was better than Venezia's or Gelare's, to my surprise. It was aromatic and crispy, and not too sweet, something that, in my opinion, is an achievement. I really liked the ambience here and I don't mind coming back for more again. I heard that the Cineleisure outlet had good Spaghetti!
