Compared to Gelare and most of the other waffle stores, I think Shokudo's Waffle is really quite value for money (one of the better things to eat from Shokudo) - humongous fresh crispy waffle, which is soft and yummy on the inside, with a scoop of ice cream for $5.80 (it's about $6.80 after gst and tax). Gelare is seriously ripping people off with their expensive waffles and expensive ice creams... and their waffle is the cakey buttery kind which I don't really like. Perhaps if you go there on Tuesday it is okay, but the Shokudo waffle is all day $6.80 . I had my waffle with White Sesame Ice Cream, and its really nice cos unlike the black sesame ice cream which has a slight bitter aftertaste, this one just smells and tastes really fragrant, but isn't bitter at all. If you really have to eat at Shokudo, I think this is one of the best thing that Shokudo has to offer :)

My Dear Dear said wanna buy me dinner one day. Heheehee.. this is the place.

It’s something like Marche or Village, only that it uses magnetic chip to record your order.

We ‘chop’ our table using this. But you need to know where you ‘chop’ coz this thing got no number or name.

We ordered alot of things, not becoz it’s my Dear dear’s treat, it’s all the food looks good!!!

Seafood Thin Crust Pizza - Interesting. Not too bad. Not much of fishy taste. I like the crispiness.

Rosti - So-so. Servings a bit small. I still prefer Marche’s. Katsu Curry Rice - My Dear main dish. Not very nice. The Pork Katsu very tough and thin. The rice so-so. The Curry is ok. Unagi Bamboo Rice and Chawanmushi - My main dish is the Unagi Bamboo Rice. Taste a bit funny. Maybe it’s the bamboo smell too strong. The Chawanmushi is very delicious! Very sweet and flavourful! I had two orders! :p

The queue to go in forever long during Meal times. Maybe next time I will try to go at odd hours.

What's gd I like their crispy thin pizza which taste like crispy biscuits saddled with bonito flakes. Its important to choose the right flavor because certain food simply do not blend together in a pizza setting. I personally like the mentaiko asparagus flavour because the mentaiko is not too fishy and melts harmoniously with the cheese and bonito flakes to create a simple & fresh ( probably brought out by the asparagus).

What's not The curry potato pizza is something that I will refrain from trying again.. simply because it taste like our familiar old chang kee curry puff without the buttery crust.

Ramen being an important japanese cusine, was a kind of let down at Shokudo because the texture of the ramen was too hard and rubbery, and the soup was too salty for my palate.

Tip Strangely, I suspect the owners are trying to create some kind of cold climate similar to Japan because the air con is pretty cold. Hence, the egg omelette that you've painfully queued for the past 15 mins may cool down soon by the time you reach your seats. Hence, try and gulp your food fast. Eat first, then talk.
